Major League Baseball International Executive Producer Russell Gabay oversees the delivery of Major League Baseball telecasts to overseas rightholders in more than 224 countries. MLBI currently televises more than 50 different games a week.


Additionally, he is responsible for the overall live independent production of the MLBI World Feed of all “Jewel Events” (All Star, LCS and World Series), which are broadcast to more than 224 countries in 12 languages. On the technical side, Mr. Gabay is involved with MLBI’s integration into High Definition Television by working closely with Japan rightsholder NHK, which first started producing games in HD in 2001.


Gabay started his career in 1979 at ESPN where he worked for eight years in various roles. He was then hired as Director East Coast Productions at HBO, where he was responsible for live event productions for sports, music and comedy. He also had the title of Executive in Charge of Production. In the summer of 1992 he was Senior Operations Manager for the NBC Olympic Games in Barcelona, responsible for the boxing and baseball venues.


Prior to joining MLB he was the Senior Production Manager for the Baseball Network and a field producer for The Today Show. He is a graduate from the University of Hartford with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications.
